I'm fine making my own cables, it's just that any time I've had a cable supplied, it's been too long and I've had to shorten it, which kind of defeats the object of buying one in the first place.
The problem I have with the choke cable is in a large part due to the huge quantity of exposed cable around the standard adjusters. If you don't turn it to "fully rich" on parking, you can garauntee a week later it'll be stuck and need freeing off. If you use it with the supplied choke cable, no matter where you put the lever, the in-line cable adjuster fouls the casquette. The cable also has to go through quite a sharp bend at the carb end which can lead to kinking of the outer/inner if you aren't very careful and takes a fair degree of fiddling if you want to weedy spring to be able to draw the cable through the outer.
