The fact that our host is selling it doesn't necessarily make it a good product. Some of use bought one direct from India before H started lsting it. The fact is that, on another forum, several people found that their Carberry plate was not accurately made. One of the forum members then advised H of the situation. H then agreed to pass on the comments to Carberry. There are fakes out there too, apparently. Anyway, no use on an iron barrel. they have plenty of their own issues....

Hi BW, bit off topic but the last Bullet I rebuilt was a 48 model G. I had ridden with the owner on several rides over the time and every ride bits broke and fell off it. On the last ride I pulled alongside him just as it holed the piston. We had to leave him on the side of the road for his father to pick him up. Some months later he asked me if I could rebuild it, I spent massive hours working on repairing/restoring the bike to its found under house glory. After splitting the crank I thought something was wrong when it wouldn't fit in my jig. I put the drive side wheel in my crank and my lathe shook violently. The owner was standing there and could not believe it. After turning the wheel to round I reassembled the crank and it now runs very well, nothing breaks and falls off, the primary is almost oil tight (small leak because he has had the primary apart for some reason). What I could work out was, was this wheel out of round from the factory from day one, it must have been rebuilt a few times over the years so why had nobody found this problem before

Jamesy, the dial gauges are reading true, they were hardly needed in this case, though, as the runout can be seen with the naked eye. Norm, I am surprised at a British crank being that bad, but in a model G it would have to be. Regards, Paul.

Hi Jamesy - right, I see what you mean. I never put the clocks onto those flywheels, as they were so 'out', it was obvious that something was very wrong. It is not so easy to see in the video as it was in 'real life', but you can just make out the flywheels going up and down relative to each other as they spin. Clearly they were not very true at all! Regards, Paul.
