Well, I do seem to have hit a nerve don't I? Not sure what I said that upset you so. Credible? Can't be anything else as I have said nothing which isn't true. In response to your earlier comment re road surfaces, I can't say that I am overly bothered by them tbh. I live in rural France, the roads I regularly ride on range from smooth tarmac to forest trails. If the weather has been even slightly wet the tractors (of which there are many) bring lots of the fields out onto the roads, mud and cow shit everywhere for 3 months is not unusual. If I only rode when conditions were perfect it would hardly be worth owning a bike. I do draw the line at riding in snow these days because at my age I don't think I would bounce so well, but other than that yes, I do ride all year, and yes, I do enjoy the challenge. I'm slightly bemused that you seem surprised to have found someone on a bike forum who can actually ride a bike, I'm nothing special, I ride every week with 3 or 4 good friends who ride the same roads I do, it's normal. Quite honestly, having ridden at least 10,000 miles a year for over 40 years I'd be pretty pissed off if I couldn't handle a little dirt or gravel by now, and I don't appreciate being called a liar just because you choose to judge my riding ability against your own standards. As for Beezabryan, grow up! -- and now, to bring a little class back to this post, here's a picture of my Glide in the Alps en route to Italy, we returned a week later through Switzerland and yes, some of the routes we took were less than perfect, so what?
