Well, I do seem to have hit a nerve don't I? Not sure what I said that upset you so. Credible? Can't be anything else as I have said nothing which isn't true. In response to your earlier comment re road surfaces, I can't say that I am overly bothered by them tbh. I live in rural France, the roads I regularly ride on range from smooth tarmac to forest trails. If the weather has been even slightly wet the tractors (of which there are many) bring lots of the fields out onto the roads, mud and cow shit everywhere for 3 months is not unusual. If I only rode when conditions were perfect it would hardly be worth owning a bike. I do draw the line at riding in snow these days because at my age I don't think I would bounce so well, but other than that yes, I do ride all year, and yes, I do enjoy the challenge. I'm slightly bemused that you seem surprised to have found someone on a bike forum who can actually ride a bike, I'm nothing special, I ride every week with 3 or 4 good friends who ride the same roads I do, it's normal. Quite honestly, having ridden at least 10,000 miles a year for over 40 years I'd be pretty pissed off if I couldn't handle a little dirt or gravel by now, and I don't appreciate being called a liar just because you choose to judge my riding ability against your own standards. As for Beezabryan, grow up! -- and now, to bring a little class back to this post, here's a picture of my Glide in the Alps en route to Italy, we returned a week later through Switzerland and yes, some of the routes we took were less than perfect, so what?

If 2cv cannot understand sarcasm and take a hint then so be it
Beezabryan has no need to grow up nor has he the need to continually try to show how great he is at the expense of some chap who whose chosen mode of transport so obviously does not meet with the approval of 2cv.

"Beezabryan has no need to grow up nor has he the need to continually try to show how great he is at the expense of some chap who whose chosen mode of transport so obviously does not meet with the approval of 2cv." -- Really? Here's a quote from an earlier post of mine on this thread -- "oh, and I love the Sportster combo", but apparently now I don't approve of it?

Sunshine, my first post on this thread was meant as a joke, something I thought I had made clear, but perhaps not clear enough. But you will no doubt be pleased to know that this will be my last posting on this subject, now you have descended to the ridiculous there is nowhere left to go, it can only be downhill from here. I'm glad you're enjoying the bike though, that is what we buy the damn things for after all. To both of you I would say again that I have said nothing which isn't true, I was not trying to score points over anybody, in fact lots of the things I said were replies to questions from Sunshine. I never said as Beezabryan is suggesting that I am a great rider, in fact I actually said "I'm nothing special". Have you ever thought that hundreds of thousands of people do these things on bikes every day all over the world? I didn't claim any extraordinary skills, and I'm certain there are lots of folks on this forum who wouldn't have any problems doing the same. In fact I've just read back through the postings and I can't find anything I said which would be out of the ordinary, quite frankly, the fact that you find anything I've said so unbelievable says much more about your riding than mine.

As for the photo you requested, I asked my wife if she was up for giving it a try (incidentally, she does NOT like being called an old woman). Unfortunately she felt that her photography skills would not be up to capturing the required selfie, so she suggested I do the handstand while she rode sidesaddle,,,,,,,,,,,,,, the doctors say we should be out of hospital by the autumn,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
