1st service is really one for the dealer due to the warranty, they should replace any missing bolts foc

The mechanic sieved the oil for debris and we both examined it, I didn't ask him to do that. The oil and filters looked like new, no debris, no grey sludge. It was a proper service, everything was attended to, not just oil and cursory inspection, cams adjusted, chain tensioned, headlamp aim etc. I'm a physicist-engineer about PhD level so yes I can just about manage to do a service myself - but the first 500km one is dealership for warranty purposes. The replenished oil should last 6000km or a year, I'm keeping an eye on it by visual inspection and feel, no losses and it's still like new at 1000 miles now. It will probably go back to the dealer for the 6000km/annual service because I miss stuff, I'd do it myself if I didn't trust their workshop. The way I run the bike means it's constantly serviced. RE use km for service interval and I have a mental block at converting to miles in my head
