the high capacity pumps have been fitted and the new spindle and worm drive too. I have to,say it sounds altogether quieter and I haven't had a clattering incident in the probably 200 miles since the work. It also feels as though it definitely running cooler. I went for a high speed fang down the motorway for about 30 to 40 mins at 60 to 65mph and there was no sign of the usual fractious behaviour or any pinking on take off that I used to get after a high speed run. So hopefully I've cured the clank ( although I'm not betting the house on it yet as it has had quiet spells before) and the bike is much happier on long distance high speed ( relatively) runs.
I did have a slightly disturbing occurrence today when I tried to roll the bike backwards and it came to a clunk stop. Forwards no probs backwards clunk. Turned out the Cush drive bolts on the back hub had all evenly undone and the one that the nut had finally fallen off had started to interfere with the brake. A ginger ride home and a new nut washer and split washer applied. You do need to check these bloody things with a spanner pretty damn regular!
