I suggest checking with local engine rebuilders or searching for specialist welders in your local area. I've had many castings repaired over the years and its bound to be cheaper than a replacement casing. Aluminium brazing is possible if you know someone with the skills but as previously mentioned TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas)is the modern and best method. I can think of three or four places to get it done in Auckland for about $50 to $100 so if you are in Blighty it should be no problem. They will leave you with an ugly blob of weld that you will need to fettle and you'll need a long drill bit to drill out the hole from the other side.
