Greaser - having had a Thruxton, a Velo Clubman and an Atlas Café Racer - I would say as Alan R does - get one of these (I know, too late) which are purpose-built for the job you describe rather than a rather tame wannabe. When I tested the GT I came away thinking it would be a nice sit up and beg Enfield - wee bit more torque, nice colours and so on but pedestrian performance. I got back on my 04 classic 500 and ripped it up the street - much lighter, flickable, louder and generally more the real deal. Shocking finish to the GT exhaust silencer. I have just bought an EFI Woodsman and very happy but I will be asking for advice on how it can go on a diet.
