Hello Flea Friends,
Some time ago I inquired about the foot peg tube which I am having fabricated. Norm was kind enough to reply. He stated the foot peg tube to be 7 and 1 quarter inches long. I ordered a kickstand from Hitchocks and the distance between the mounts are 5 and 3 quarters inches. Should I just make my tube to that size or am I missing something? I don't think the kick stand would be attached before the tube is welded on. I was also able to get the original break lever. It appears that it just hangs there off the bracket and attaches to the break rod. I am using makeshift footrest arm assemblies off another bike. Trying to get a good photo from the underside to see how it all attaches. I am not sure if photos can send through this site. My email is [email protected] Hope it is OK with Hitchcocks to put my email on forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I am having difficulty coming up with the nut on the Crank shaft drive side gear. I ordered one from Hitchcocks but it is incorrect. Thin 7/16 x 26 tpi. It is a finer thread. Hithcocks said sometimes the used different threads on war era bikes. They thought it might be 7/16 x 20 tpi. I am in the US and have not been able to find anything that will work. Tried Whitworth and UNF. Any suggestions?
Thanks for all your help!
Jeff
