My EFI 'box started crunchy, got better, and is now on the decline. It 'falls' out of gear quite a lot now, particularly from third. Not good, especially when you are accelerating away. No idea why it would do such a thing though. The change can be improved slightly with a well adjusted cable... but that doesn't stop the falling out of gear problem.
As for most neutrals... there is THE neutral, and then the one between 2 and 3, another between 3 and 4, and a final one between 4 and 5. Neutral overkill
