@Sofiaspin, exactly! But the price of the CCM GP450 is 8000GBP If RE built a steel framed lower cost model for 4999 GBP it could do well. it would need to come with luggage as standard etc. Call it "The Himalaya"...

You know, after getting so fed up with the negativity of this forum, i haven't looked at it in over a year.
Here i am surfing and thought i'd just see how things are going, and i can see that people on here are as negative as always. Having bought a continental GT a few weeks after their launch, it is a great, fun motorcycle, worthy of credit.
Royal Enfield's future is bright, and there will be more to come i'm sure, inc., twins etc.
I have a 2001 500 bullet thats done over 50,000 miles and still going strong.
I have had nothing but pleasure from riding Indian made Royal Enfield's.
They are not just machines for people on a budget, they are for free thinkers who have money too and want something different, not just something they can perhaps tune to "make better" and end up with a catalogue of woe's because it not reliable anymore, or those that ride them like they are modern bikes and end up seizing them, or having bearings collapse etc.
i have a whole host of friends with woeful tails of BMW's and other bikes too, inc, Japenese machines.
So don't give me this Indian made rubbish. Faults can occur in anything mechanical, it is its nature....what EVER part of the world it comes from.
See you in another year perhaps.

Wishing you happy trails.
Enjoy if you can, and Happy New Year to one and all.

Hi guys---------Negativity ??---Well, to be fair about this or any other similar forum, it's much like a Doctors Surgery}--ie usually populated by the unwell looking for help and a cure...........When was the last time any of us called in at our local Surgery just to say how fit & well we were, etc ??---- OK, maybe that's a bit simplistic but you get the idea ??.......... Also, the 20 or so patients with Winter Flu' in that waiting room doesn't mean that the whole of my Estate now has "The Plague" ....OK, it's Human nature I suppose but you see what I'm driving at ??.......... I'm genuinely pleased that you can report such high mileages with no problems because it shows that it CAN be done, and should give us all the impetus to keep our own "Steed" up to that level of reliability.......Please don't wait for another year to pass before feeling the need to join in....By contributing on a regular basis, you can actually help to reduce any Negativity that maybe we have missed along the way...........

Jon, I'm happy for you but there is thousands of Indian built Enfield that have crapped out all around the world and the best the factory and many dealers can come up with is it is the owners fault, give me a break, junk is junk no matter how you wrap it
