The gap at the back of gearbox is actually not bad in the flesh - the plates disguise it quite well and also the engine is set back about an inch from where a norton would be - splitting the difference a bit if that makes sense. The 680 engine pulls like a train with a 22t gearbox sprocket - it would pull more if you could make it fit, but I had to shave and re-weld the cases quite a bit to get the 22t to fit. Also handles great as you would expect. Bike is actually my wife's - it has electric start and left foot shift five speed so she is happy riding it. Keeps up with my 560cc SOHC Manx engined featherbed no problem! Everyone should have one! Wish I could upload pics direct so you could see completed bike.
