I also remember a Swedish gent that used to run a single cylinder diesel in a gs850 frame it only did about 45 but was very economical (well I presume it was it only had a one gallon tank)
Osla? Had a deckchair for a saddle and a shopping trolley for a rear rack?

That was a diesel engine off a whacker plate. He had it mounted on massive rubber bushes in sucha way as it was free to rotate about 10 degrees in either direction round the axis of the crank. It did too as certain revs. It was more like a signle cylinder gnome rotary engine when you saw it running.

Criminal what happened to him. He took it over to the Canary Isles. When he was there, the authorities seized his bike, refused to hand it back (even to take it out of the country) and eventually crushed it. That bike had been all round Europe. Even the German police could see he was harmless and turned a blind eye as long as he kept it off the Autobahns.

That's the one
Shame what happened
He was a real genuine nice fella
His heater was one of the funniest things I have ever seen on a bike (a rubber hose running from just behind the exhaust up to a funnel just in front of his privates)
It used to take him about 3 week's to get to the UK I was foolish enough to ask if it was because the bike was slow? He just replied "no but there are to many bar's "
Cheers all Dai

Then there was Michael from Germany(Rat man) with Roadkill! He dropped that once when he was with us and no one would help pick it up or even touch it (we were on a hill and I had no handbrake on the trike (my excuse) )
Thanks for the memories Dai
