That was a diesel engine off a whacker plate. He had it mounted on massive rubber bushes in sucha way as it was free to rotate about 10 degrees in either direction round the axis of the crank. It did too as certain revs. It was more like a signle cylinder gnome rotary engine when you saw it running.
Criminal what happened to him. He took it over to the Canary Isles. When he was there, the authorities seized his bike, refused to hand it back (even to take it out of the country) and eventually crushed it. That bike had been all round Europe. Even the German police could see he was harmless and turned a blind eye as long as he kept it off the Autobahns.
