Yes they are very effective and I can wear my comfortable thinner gloves - am I getting soft in my old(er) years. Perhaps it's just much colder oop north compared to the leafy lanes of Hampshire where I used to ride all year round, come snow, black ice, rain and even occasional sunshine.
On an entirely different tack and this is really a technical issue.. Over on the US forum it seems some Meteor owners are experiencing red warning lights to do with the engine temperature sensor. I don't really understand exactly but RE servicing shops are saying it's nothing to worry about

and eventually there is going to be an RE fix to sort it. All a bit complicated for me though. A simple carburettor would be nice but I suppose those days are in the past and as a friend tells me " It is what it is".
