Ah another convert; welcome , Meteor Mike! Yes the more you get to know your Meteor, the more you're going to love it. Roll on spring.

Ps. The yellow Fireball seems very popular on this forum and across the Atlantic. I wonder if it's the best selling variant?

Thanks LanesExplorer. I feel the Meteor gets me back to what biking was always about for me: affordable and fun. I've never owned a new bike and never ridden a Royal Enfield until recently. Some interesting videos on Ytube of Indians riding them across ploughed fields and they performed quite well.

Absolutely right! Fun and very affordable! I had no idea if I was going to enjoy riding again after a longish break and had never bought a new bike before, either. So the Meteor, as it looks like a 'proper' (ha - I'm more used to British machines from the sixties) motorcycle and was a 350 single (I like 350 singles 😊) at £4000 seemed my ideal choice. And I was SO right! It's good to hear that you, Meteormike, having such experience of far more powerful machines can show that specifications are just a small part of the whole.

There is a poll on Facebook and I think the blue Super Nova was leading it with the yellow Fireball 3rd. It seems the high spec and red ones are popular in India with the yellow doing well in the UK and Europe. The yellow and black with chrome hints and spoked alloy wheels reminds me of the RD400D I owned and restored in the early 2000's. For me it's definitely the yellow, followed by the red Fireball.....I do like the largely dechromed look. I think a top end of 80mph and a cruising speed of 70mph would be perfect but I guess that would drop the economy but you would have to weigh that up against how hard the standard power engine would be working at the higher speed to work out a more effective and fair comparison.
I can recommend you tube videos by Stuart Fillingham, RidercamTV and Exeter rider although I'm betting many of you guys have probably seen them before me.

Has anyone fitted or tried out the RE bar end mirrors yet? There's a YouTube video review of a Meteor being ridden through the New Forest and it's fitted with them. They appear to be very neat although quite expensive to try out and then find they're not ideal.

On the unofficial Royal Enfield website under Meteor 350 and Classic 350 heading - Workshop Manual ; page 2, someone in Dallas is making available a download workshop manual for the Meteor 350 he's obtained somehow. He's asking for a sort of donation for the download - which is big as it runs to well over 1000 pages. 🤔

I glad that manuel actualy exist . I would be happy to pay for it. Waiting for a more sercure way to purchace it.
I have serveral Service Manuals from CYCLEPEDIA they are very detailed and well done. Had a phone conversation with Greg at Cyclepedia , he stated he would love to produce one for the Meteor but has not been able to get any information to do so.
Hopeful Royal Enfield will be more open with this needed information which other manufactures provide . This a very well designed and manufactu;red motorcycle, you would think Royal Enfield would be proud to share this information with us.

I can't get a Haynes manual for my 4 year old car, it seems companies are protective about releasing service and repair information to 3rd party publishers these days and like to make it available as a paid resource to service agents. I can't say I enjoy viewing service manuals over the Internet, much prefer a printed version but it seems to be the way of things now.
