I reckon that will press out OK provided the case is supported on the inside by a suitably sized spacer, such as a piece of tubing with a cut-out to clear the part at the top.

I would tend to agree
But it's possibly been there for 70 years
If it was a Indian box I would press it out
Only John can decide on the best option
