My new to me 2008 Electra-X needs its first service. The manual I have is not clear on a few points, can anyone advise on the following?

Engine oil. There are what look like three drain plugs on the underside of the engine, one below the filter housing and two further back. Are they all drain plugs?

Clutch oil. The manual refers to slackening the cover screws and letting the oil drain out, but my bike has what looks like a small drain plug behind the gear pedal. Is this a drain plug?

Thanks

Whatever you do do NOT put 2.2 litres of oil in it, it will overfill it. Put 1.3 litres in it, then check the level after running the engine.
(Grown men have ended crying with overfilling the oil.)

Working from back to front,

Plug 1 = oil tank drain;

Plug 2 = gauze strainer plug for the feed-side oil pump;

Plug 3 = gauze strainer plug for the scavenge side oil pump.

The latter will bear the brunt of any big and or main bearing failure, sadly the gauze is still coarse enough to let damaging tiny particles through and score-up the inside of the scavenge oil pump body, which is actually part of the timing cover.

You can drill and tap this for a ¼" BSF set screw with a couple of 5mm neodymium magnets on top to help trap any unwanted ferrous particles.
