Hi guy's and girls, I know this subject comes around often I've had a look in the archives already. I just wanted to know your latest thoughts on tyres for the Bullet B5 2019. 110/80 - 18 rear and 90/90 - 19 front. I like the Mitas E-07 but I have to be honest I'm more on the road than off it although I do some gravel tracks and green lanes. Also I cant find the E-07 rear tyre for these dimensions. I also like the METZELER BLOCK C but these are given in the old dimensions eg, 3.00R19 or 3.50R18. Does anyone know what 110/80 - 18 rear and 90/90 - 19 front translates to in old dimensions? Thoughts and opinions please as the tyre choice is turning out to be less simple than I thought. Currently it has the standard avons but I fancy a change.
To recap......
What sizes are possible on the Bullet std B5 2019? ( Taller tyre on the back maybe)
What makes and why? Mileage , performance.

Cheers fellow Enfielder's I cant wait for your replies.

I like Avon roadriders because they are a modern, dual compound tyre which gives excellent grip in both wet and dry road conditions, corners well and takes a long time to square off.

A friend of mine who is a competant and successful club racer also rates them highly and I respect his oppinion.

I’ve had two K-67s on the rear wheel of my 350. I matched it up with a similar Cheng Shin one of the front wheel.

Both were better on tarmac than I expected, including in the rain. The K-67 has a soft-ish rubber compound and mine wore out quite quickly on the centre blocks. Having cut one up for disposal, I was impressed how thick the carcass is after the tread has got to the end of its life.

Due to my recent health issue, I’ve decided I need to do less off road riding as I can’t risk an internal injury and have removed them for OE Indian road tyres but I’d have no hesitation recommending the above.

I have these on my 500 deluxe, and find them very good, of course these are ROAD tyres I don't think they would be much good off road.

In fairness, even with the traditional MK2 speedmaster front and safety mileage rear, the tyre has not been the limiting factor on the handling of my bullets. Maybe would be with more ground clearance.

I've also taken that combination across some fairly serious "offroad" conditions without much drama.

I've got the K67's on my 2008 efi although 3.50 on the rear as I tried a 4.00 and it rubbed badly over bumps when two up. My bike has 19" wheels front and rear so a 4.00 on a 18 may be ok. I've used the bike for some (very) gentle green laning and they're okay in the dry although, like all but the gnarliest knobbly, not much good in mud. On the road they do give a bit of a vague feeling compared to the Michelin Anakees I used to run (I have a ready made stock of super cheap 19" front Anakees from a chap who has a KTM and swaps front and back tyres at the same time) but after a few miles I get used to it and they seem fine, even in the wet, although they have made the steering very light at 'high speed' (70'ish), almost like I could induce a speed wobble pretty easily with a touch on the bars, never developed into one though.

Can't comment on wear as I've only done about 1,000 miles on the rear due to CV| and adding the Himmy to the stable for Winter duties alongside the AT. The poor efi hardly gets a look in now.
