Evening all,
So my first day with my 2016 500 bullet. Rode 50 miles and loved every minute of it.
Only problem is the width of handle bars with end weights has a hairline each side when bringing in to the garage as have to use a normal door . I can easily take off and then fit ack on every time I take bike out. How important are they I understand it takes some vibration out of the handle bars . Is it noticeable ???

Suck it and see. You can fit a bung in the end instead. You can also get shorter bar weights.

In the old days, people used to fill their bars with sand to damp down vibes.

I binned the bar end weights when I fitted aluminium bars and heated grips. can't say there's much vibration

Mine has bar end weights as they were already fitted. I probably wouldn’t have any. But I have fitted Grip Puppies to help with vibes and also increase grip size slightly.

My 2019 C5 is the first bike Ive owned with bar end weights so I can't speak with knowledge about them but I did take them off to see if there was any noticeable difference and up to 70MPH I didn't notice anything different,
I remember years ago on an old BSA Goldflash changing the rusty handlebar for a nice new one and finding the ends filled with lead shot!
I too like windmill john have grip puppies on my C5 but I only fitted them as I have big hands and just struggled to get used to the slender grips that are standard I'm sure they may help with vibrations but........
I have some short summer boots which are more comfortable on the RE than my tall riding boots with regards to vibrations due to the differences in the sole - I had never noticed this before on my other bikes - maybe something to do with the rubber foot peg grips?

I will say, after being mentioned on this wonderful forum, that after loosening the engine bolts with a running engine and retightening, my right hand foot peg is now as smooth as ANY bike I've ridden, including multis.
The left hand foot peg...... well..... that's a different matter

I'll give that a try and see if it improves it any, having said that I don't think mine is that vibey for a single anyway, Ive had worse .................

i have bar end weights on my bullet for two reasons, neither of them to do with vibration. 1) It makes the bar slightly longer than the levers so when I drop it, it's less likely to break a lever. 2) My bar muffs fit on them.
