Are there folks using (semi-) synthetic oil? Is there a reason not to do this?

I have always used good quality 20/50 in mine - that is what they were designed for.

I am sure there are arguments for and against but I stick with 20/50, and I don't feel like arguing

You can use semi synth but it's a waste of money really.
You also don't need a motorcycle oil as the clutch is lubed separately.
I just use a decent 20/50

I use a very special oil that can take me days to find. Traveling from supermarket to auto shops its hard sometimes to find the cheapest possible oil in town. Usually a straight 40 which is what I use in every engine I got.

Its easy to criticise the Indian factory but lets not forget that it was an Englishman who designed this engine and who with what ever parameters specified decided on 20/50 oil. I assume we all know better than him.
