Thanks RB, I’ll provide you with my PayPal account. Please deposit £500 and I’ll order the carb conversion and keep it in the shed as a back up. ;)
I’m bankrupt as I might be keeping my Transalp as well.

With you blooming lot going on about oil pressure and buggered o rings, I’m not surprised I’m keeping my Transalp....

You’re scaring me to death!

Only kidding, I’m never changing the oil or taking off the rhs cover. I should be good for about 100,000 miles I think.....

Well, total price of £7.49, I got the Pihut one.

It had five counters, each one splittable; new word!
Biggest decision of my life, use three or four.... I had sleepless nights  actually I am sad as I did think about it for a while!

I chose four, then wondered how to mount it. I decided in the end to wrap it in some walnut I had. Ignore the one bad join, you’ll see why I gave up woodwork... I cut off the four circuit boards, glued the four sides, sanded and waxed the sides and then fitted four small button magnets underneath.

Very pleased and I can put it anywhere on the bike if I don’t want to mount it the on the handlebar mount.

I’ve been thinking about what else could be easily used as an easily set, mechanical trip mileage reminder.

I’ve just ordered a small, three digit combination, luggage lock. It can be clipped onto the bike, probably onto the clutch cable.

Similar to this one:

A genuine Smiths's Chronometric will still fit the casquette, you want one for panel mounting with a flanged bezel and vertical trip reset, ideally calibrated for the front tyre size you're using.

The lock cost £1.99p and will do the job. If it doesn’t work out I might use it as a luggage lock! :D
