I heard a while back that if you knew the right person in a certain crematorium, you could get titanium quite cheaply. Neither of our RE racers is equipped with any of it, BTW.

My left arm has a good deal of stainless steel meccano strip in it, you're welcome to that when I'm dead.

Excellent article Adrian - just goes to prove that titanium does belong on all bikes, not just 21st Century rocketships!
Titanium isn't actually that expensive - I bought a 125x125x3mm plate for £13 - I should get 2 handlebar clamps out of that (1 b@lls up & 1 useable  )

Tell you what though. If your engineering skills stretch to fabricating an aluminium swingarm for a bullet. Particularly one which will accommodate a 4.00 or 4.50 full-knob trials tyre, I reckon you'd be able to sell a few.

I'm only limited by tools. I haven't got the facilities to alloy weld :| it's something I keep promising myself but never get around to doing :(

I might be able to understand the sense and/or need for an aluminium swing arm on some machines but can’t see why anyone would need such a contraption on a Bullet!!

If ever there was a solution looking for a problem then this is a contender for a podium finish!! The Bullet hardly needs a swing arm at all - works perfectly with a rigid rear end!!
