Same as above, just a different approach.
The "stub" on this 2006 iron barrel bullet was only partially cast, so I cleaned it up, then drilled and tapped for an external fitting.
Both this (additional) barrel breather and original oil tank breather vent into a custom oil/air separator. (a similar though better version of the factory catch can)

I’ve just ordered an NRV for the pipe from my oil tank to the back of my bike; thanks Adrian.

Now, the current pipe Fro. My oil tank is routed following my rear mudguard. In other words, it follows an uphill curve, then a downhill curve.
Reading some of the earlier posts in this thread, do you see a major issue as it is not routed horizontally or downwards?

Once the NRV arrives, the point might be mute, as any Mayo in there could not get back to the oil tank.

Any gloop in the upward section of the pipe would trickle back into the tank once the engine stops, as long as it's a straight run back down to the tank. If you want to keep those breather hoses I'd put the valve at the highest point of the present hose.

Interesting. If I hadn’t posted, I would have put the valve just after the 90 degree out of the tank, so none goes back. I’d have thought you wouldn’t want any gloop going back.

Ideally not, BUT if you have enough gloop trickling back down the hose and pooling just above the valve it could still cause problems.

My preferred option is still the hose with a shorter and slightly downhill run to the back of the chainguard. An awful lot has been posted about Bullet breathers on RE forums over the years, everybody seems to have their preferred solution!

Thanks Adrian, 10mm hose fits ok, like you suggest it is anything but round (looks like a blob of weld!) but should be ok, have done some careful filing, worse scenario is an oil weep but sure I could seal it up if need be.
