Hi all.I'm needing a new silencer for my Sixty5. I quite fancy a goldstar type, now apart from the louder sounds would I need to rejet the carb to suit the silencer. At present it has standard carb and air filter
Thanks Dave

hi if you keep the original front pipe you do not have to rejet the carb if you have changed the front pipe then follow hitchcocks guide for jetting your carb, even with standard pipe the sound is great with a goldie style silencer ,I have just replaced mine in December and even the neighbour fellow biker likes the sound

Hi Rasputin, I'm surprised to hear you say its the front pipe that makes the difference. I have fitted a Goldie replica silencer with the swept-back front pipe to my 350 Bullet. While there is a wide variety on silencers, I can't see that the front pipes vary much.

I'd agree with JohnR on this. The majority of the restriction in a 350 bullet exhaust system is in the silencer. If you were to run one without a silencer at all on standard jetting, it wouldn't idle and would run lean as hell and start 8-stroking at wide open throttle.
