Forgive me if this has been asked before, but the charging light on my GT535 does not go out when started, the engine has to be rev'ed for the light to extinguish. Also, the light will come on if the bike is left on tick over for a long time, like an MOT. Has anyone else had this? The alternator put out about 12.20/12.40 volts at tick over but goes to 13.30 by the time the engine has reached 1800/2000 rpm.

RE dont have a charging light. You'll need to figure out which light is coming on. MIL light possibly? Your voltages are bit on the low side as well. You should be seeing 12.8v and above at tickover upto 14.5 v at 2000rpm. Your battery may well be dead or dying.

The GT does have a battery light, according to the manual it comes on if the system is at less than 12v for more than 3 seconds... Mine does it sometimes at tickover with the lights on

Edit: if it does this regularly, even when the lights are off then something is not working properly!

That looks like it is just a volt meter monitoring the battery voltage. Coming on when your volts are low. As your voltage is rising when you rev the bike up the charging system must be doing something. As you have very low volts when the engine is not running I recon your battery is goosed. 12.8v minimum at rest. Your 12.2 is a flat battery.

Your battery does seem to be past it's best but if it still starts the engine it can't be too bad.
Are you sure it's not lack of use during the lockdown that's caused it? Perhaps a few days on a decent trickle charger will help.
