I have purchased rear crash bars after dropping my Euro 4 2018 classic C5 a week back (load speed, not too much damage!).

These were from an Indian suppliers and i was assured that they fit a classic C5, but i have no idea how the fit on or what way up they go! I assumed they would fit to the top shock bolt but that doesn't seem to then line up anywhere below for the bottom bolt, they definitely will not fit under the seat where the (removed) pillion seat bolts.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks

Ha ha, tried that, I got a ‘Yes sir these fit your Classic C5 EFI!’ To which I reiterated, ‘yes I understand but please advise me how and where they fit’ to which I was advised ‘Sir as we stated, you have the correct bars for your Classic C5’

In other words I don’t think they know!

Over the many years I have run Royal Enfields the one thing I have learned - its that you pays yer money and take yer chances - sometimes (not many) the cheap stuff you get from India is ok - mostly it isn't and you throw it away, the Indians are hard businessmen and once they have your money you will get zero customer service. Our hosts always, always give excellent service and are always only a phone call away, they are dearer sometimes but if you have to throw those crashbars in the bin and buy another set - they aint so cheap are they ?

Having spent quite a bit of time riding bikes in India I do understand the Indian culture, where it is all make do, and make fit, and if it does not fit - hammer it until it does ! joking apart - they are masters of making things fit at all costs and I have watched mu Bullet gearbox stripped and spread all over a shale and rock car park, parts replaced and next day - my gearbox was perfect. Over there the bikes are mainly transport, taxi, family runabout and anything else which you can load on it, our position is different where our bikes are just hobbies really.

On the earlier models rear crash bars fitted from the top suspension mounting to the read foot peg mounting. The rear foot pegs where removed and the bottom of the crash bar did duty as the foot peg.
I think............. been a long time 🙄
Dont know about the C5 but it might be the same.

Well I took the advice given and beat the crash bars a little with a lump hammer and removed the rear passenger foot pegs and they fitted reasonably well. Took a picture this evening for reference if any one else fits a pair to a C5

This is a familiar story to those who read this forum.
Purchase parts from India - and have problems of fit and quality and absolutely no backup from sellers.

I wouldn't know what to advise in such a case - other than to purchase with confidence from the best RE retailer in the world!!!!
