Hi guys


I am posting question on my friend's behalf. i am very curious as well


We are trying to find root cause of rattling sound from Bullet 500 2004 ( non UCE )


fitted new barrel/piston still no luck. tappets and bigend seems to be fine. it kind of ok on idling but when put we drive rattling sound start.


any ideas/suggestion will be appreciated.

Take the outer primary chaincase off first and check the chain tension. If it's too slack it makes and awful rattle as the chain tensioner adjuster screw clatters against the inner chaincase, but it's an easy fix, unless your primary chain actually needs replacing and there is no adjustment left. While you're in there, also check that the alternator rotor isn't loose on the crankshaft.

Also check that the alternator rotor woodruff key is not sheared; which does happen when the engine backfires.

Pull the clutch in . it still rattles .

My friend confirmed he already checked still no joy
My friend a.k.a bullet hunter started cleaning his tools to bring down the bullet engine .. anyother suggestion before he starting spliting crankcase .. thanks and regards
