My son has bought a Bullet Thunderbird 350cc but having checked the bike cover appears to be missing the Contact Breaker Unit - There are 2 holes (sections) one looks like it may have been part of a engine casting? - Is this unit separate or part on engine casing? (Bike imported from India currently unregistered) - Any help would be greatly appreciated as I fear the worst! - Cheers

I've never known the Thunderbird to have contact breakers. The AVL engine had TCI ignition, with the trigger housed around the alternator (same set-up as the Electra X). The UCE engine uses electronic ignition as well.

I've looked at the pictures and you've got the 350cc AVL engine. There are no contact breakers. There never were any contact breakers. The mounting has been blanked off. You've got TCI electronic ignition. Here's a suggestion; Take the spark plug out and kick the engine over. You should get a spark.
