2010 Clubman bullet. Testing rectifier with DMM on diode setting. Getting no reading when either black or red from DMM attached to ground on rectifier, with other lead on any of 3 yellow leads. Is this correct? - some differing info on interweb.....

Think I may have found answer... Mosfet regulators mean you can't test 3 of the diodes. So it's down to eliminating other possible faults.

Would it not be simpler to do a dynamic test with it on the bike. Look at voltage and cuirrent output? A static test isn't always all that helpful anyway. I've had it before where they work perfectly well until they get hot then it all breaks down. The one on my VFR750 did that until I drilled holes in the nearby body panel to allow air to circulate.

As you say, the other possible faults are probably easier to diagnose with a meter anyway. Checking the AC output from the charging coils is a good start. Then srring if the battery holds a charge overnight. If that's ok, it can only really be a wiring fault or the reg/rec.
