Hi all,
Just to let anyone who might be interested know, all being well, our 350 and 500 Enfields should be racing at Aberdare on 28th and 29th of July. Our rider for this event will be Dean John from Bridgend and the machines will still carry the racing number 4

I will be there (on the Sunday) as I am every year. A superb event with a unique atmosphere and well worth travelling to. I have fond memories of the Kennings Classic series being held there in the eightees when the park echoed to the sound of Manx Nortons and Seeley G50's and I'm looking forward to seeing your Enfields in action there paul! Tip: The reduced "senior citizen" entry fee applies if you are aged sixty or over (I have checked with the organisers!).

It all went pretty well at Aberdare, the 350 being the major player for our rider, Dene John from Bridgend, due to it being more 'nippy' round this twisty short circuit. The 500 was used initially, both machines having been practised on. It was found that the extra power of the Big 'un gave no advantage over the 350's light weight and wider rev range. Also, the 500 developed a misfire in one Saturday race [new plugs fixed it], so this became the backup machine. Running with the 350 Gold Stars and some modern Jap bikes which were running concurrently but in their own class, the 350 came second to only one very fast, disc braked at both ends, 6 speed Seeley framed Goldie, all the rest of the Goldies and several Jap bikes were behind it.
Another race saw it hard on the tail of Arthur Browning on a 500 cc machine.
