Good morning All

So collected my new toy the weekend very very happy with it, couple of issues I need to sort out on the kick start an gear selector there seems to be a bit of movement you can actually move the whole assembly up and down, on a separate not how exactly does the neutral selector work it doesn't seem to have a lot of resistance and the selector can go nearly all the way up

The freedom of movement of the neutral lever seems to depend on how tight the central bolt is nipped up because there's a flattened coil spring under its cover plate. The play in the gearchange and kickstart must be due to wear.

They are all pretty sloppy it is an Albion. Unless you have had another to compare it against it is hard to tell, trust me they are not like a Japper box. The neutral finder is tricky to get set up but once working as it should it is a ripper

Norm is right Albions tend to be on the sloppy side, but the neutral finder once setup properly works really well. The neutral finder was probably the best feature of the Albion when I was running an Albion box.

So I will be removing the neutral selector as it is brass and I want to go back to chrome is there any information or has anybody got any advice on setting the neutral selector

Slappy, not sure if I can describe how to do it, but you put the bike on the center stand put the shifter into 2nd or third or fourth, rotate the rear wheel and push down on the neutral finder and if it is set correctly it will select neutral. The stop can be rotated to get it t pull neutral. This is how it should work in a perfect world, many I have had to modify to function as they should

I know it's a lotta dollar - and I'm anticipating a lot of '...you can get the 4 speed to work well..' responses - but I retrofitted the 5 speed, to Slo Poke, and haven't looked back. They're like night and day.
