Hi All,always had an issue with clutch slip, if I adjust the clutch lever so that there is no slip it won't change gear and visa versa. The clutch plates have plenty of meat on them, even with meat on them could I still need new ones, just wondering if the clutch service kit would improve matters, any advice would be grateful, thanks..

Look up GEARBOX OUTER COVER STIFFENER ASSEMBLY in Accessory Shop.
Makes a big difference.

Which springs do you have? There are strong and weak springs. Three of each seems a good combination. Also make sure the pushrod is in good order, if it's a bit rusty, it can prevent the clutch releasing properly, especially when hot.

Usually caused by lost motion somewhere along the line, stretched outer cable can be difficult to identify, but just work your way along from lever to pressure plate in clutch checking everything - including cover flexing as already mentioned. It is possible to improve the scope of the handlebar lever by removing it and VERY gently bending ball end back slightly between wooden blocks in a big vice, but never put pipe over it and try and bend: IT WILL break!

Just to clarify: if ball end touches hand grip first then extra travel can be gained by altering shape so middle of lever comes right back to grip.... the bending is done using 3 bits of wood, two apart on one side and one in the middle on the other side, and the vice as a press, the secret of not breaking lever is just gentle application of pressure with vice so it can't "suddenly go to far"!
