I fitted the type sold by Enfield accessories on eBay with the sat nav mount that sits behind the screen.
This has an on off switch and has been working perfectly on my bike. I fitted a fused line from my battery for safety of course and I tested with the switch on and off for current draw and with off it's 0 amps so does not drain battery. Hope This helps

I wired a small USB charger up to the battery and cable tied it under the seat LHS. It is water resistant, fused and has a press on and press off switch with a small green LED power light. It has never let me down, even when I left it on for a couple of weeks (no phone connected though). I just run the charging cable around the tank to a RAM X-grip mount (pricy, but you get what you pay for). A more elegant solution would be to run the charger's cable under the fuel tank to the bars and use a short phone cable. Takes less than a minute to remove or fit the phone cable and mount when you park up. I have no doubt this is not quite what you should do, but it works on my classic 500 EFI.
