Hi Adrian again, and this is probably the best option I can think of using the Bullet cases and the Electra timing cover. If you make a thick timing cover gasket and slot a hole in the gasket to go between the Bullet feed pump hole and the corresponding hole in the Electra timing cover, this should solve the problem and allow the oil to travel inside the gasket. I was also thinking a sheet steel gasket might even be an option maybe 2mm thick, just have to make sure the end of the crank will still enter far enough into the timing cover seal.

Sorry Adrian but I keep coming up with ideas, latest is probably the simplest, mill a slot in the timing cover and punch the second hole in the gasket, this is the easy peasy method. I will stop thinking about it now. Makes me almost tempted to hunt up another Electra to play with again

Norm,

We're so far off the original issue here I think I shall have to start a new thread on this one! I'm needed elsewhere at the moment so play will resume in a while.
