OK not the brake and clutch, on my 52 model G according to the Instruction book for the Model S, G and J2 (1954 7th reprint) I should have a lever for ignition (advance / retard), valve lifter and air control (I assume choke). What I seem to have is ignition on the left hand side and valve lifter (as its sprung) on the right.

Is this arrangement right for the model G or I need to look at reinstating the arrangement in the book if I want originality?

Here is a video showing the arrangement

and here is whats in the book

Hi matey---- easiest way to sort those two out is to follow the respective cables to their other ends..............I suspect that one on the throttle side will be the choke slider....It's snapping back like that is because either the large centre nut on the lever assy is not tightened down enough OR there is a spring washer missing.........The one on the clutch side will end at the magneto and be for advance or retarding the ignition...As per your booklet I'd expect to find the de-compressor lever on the L/H side and in the form of a small, finger operated trigger...
