My beloved Harry coughs and splutters when ridden with headlights on. Could this be battery probs?

If this is a 2015 year bike still on its original battery, I would not even charge and test battery, just replace it with new, you bet its knackered

Hi, had the same problem on a Bsa B40, one of the battery cells was dry. Vince

The battery would certainty be a suspect.

Classic C5 Euro 4 at the moment.
Also CBf250.

If it gets worse with the indicators flashing....yes, signs of a discharged battery.
