I just tried what you said above and used a private browser window whilst logged out. As you can see it didn't work.

What am I doing wrong?

I've now managed to generate a google photos link which looks very similar in structure to the link you posted(and as you said its a labyrinthine procedure). Again it works if you click on it but the picture does not appear automatically. I think it needs a HTML wrapper in order to call/retrieve the link so I would be interested to know how you accomplished that in your post.

If a browser cannot find the image, it will display the alternate text:

I now know how to make this work for Google Photos, but its not for the fainthearted. Might be useful if the free sites disappear but otherwise its very cumbersome unless there is a shortcut I'm missing.

Sorry, yeah, it needs the img src html tags.



I do huge canoe trip blogs using google photos with 10s/100s of pictures, what I do it copy and paste a load of "empty" html tags into my post (with double line break tags on the end on this forum) ready for my image addresses. These links work with BBcode too if the forum supports it (this one doesn't).



I put all the pictures I want to use into an album in google photos, get the share link for the album and open it in a private browser window. I then click on the first photo and can start copying the image addresses as I flick through the album one picture at a time. With firefox/chrome, you just need to right click and "copy image location". Then paste them into the empty tags.

As I mentioned earlier Alan, that site appears to be run by the same lot as Image Upload UK, so it might not STAY free, even if it is free for the time being.

Hi Adrian-----sorry for the delay in replying.........Being as we are on Page 2 I tend to forget that it's always worth a look at the contributions on the previous pages !!--DOH !! ...Anyway, so far--so good but I will be prepared to suddenly loose the free aspect anytime...Thanks for the head-up..
