I haven't looked in the service book see what's needed, but my dealer wanted 50 quid for the first 500K service, so I did it myself with his approval just keep a record of it he said. So what more is there to do on a Euro 4, just a good check over and change the oil, I'll be doing three oil/filters changes within the first 1600K, and probably my dealer will not get his hands on my machine, unless there is an Enfield fault of any kind, as I just had with a small chip in the paint on the tank that was changed without question.

As RoSy says, there's not much to it. Look in the owners book and see what's required but I doubt there's anything at all technical.
Have you someone to hold your hand a bit if needed?

How much a service costs depends on what a dealers/mechanics hourly charges are. That varies wildly. From around £25 an hour to you robbing (expletive deleted.)

Servicing a Royal Enfield is hardly rocket science, yet my brother in law was very recently quoted £90 per hour labour by a dealer for a job on his Bullet 500!

That's about twice the going rate for an aircraft mechanic. I did the job for nothing. I've been working on bikes since 1971 and thankfully my bikes don't need to go anywhere near a main dealer's bike shop.
