Hello,
I have recently learned that coil and body of the SR1, 2 and 4 models are interchangeable. Is that also true for the rotor (permanent magnet) and points arrangement (base plate)? Thank you very much ... Peter

Hi, the rotor shaft is longer on SR2 as it has a distributor rotor on the end. Also the cover is a different shape. Points/Coils will interchange as I have done this myself. Vince

Hello Vince, Thank you very much! I have 2 magnetos: One is SR1 (body with circular flange at the rear driving side), the other one looks similar, front and side view, but has a different rear driving side shape (oval). How can I load a photo?
Regards, Peter

Hi,bear in mind these mags had applications on tractors, industrial engines etc. You may find that the oval end is a bolt on part. Some types of engine had moveable mounting to adjust the timing. Vince. PS I have no idea how to add photos so over to the more knowledgeable readers!

To post a photo:

sign up for a photo-hosting web site, IMG BB is still free at the moment https://imgbb.com/ ;

uploard your photo there;

the web site should have a list of different types of code for sharing your photo on different sorts of internet pages;

find the one(s) labelled HTML. I repeat, HTML;

on NO account use the one that says BBCode for forums, cause it DOESN'T WORK on THIS forum;

copy the HTML code for your picture and paste it into your message;

type < b r > < b r > (without the spaces) before and after your HTML code to separate it from the text, you should also use this for paragraph breaks.
