Hobbyist ??------no, these are highly skilled people who, for example, hand made that engine in my video I posted..........Here's your stainless steel}-------- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A4-316-Stain ... ortunately my contact for Metric Fine taps and Dies isn't at home at the moment......But not to worry as I've had to search for that size tap & Die before...... It's not that scarce...Come to think of it you're not that far away from good old Performance Classics....I'm sure Paul would do you a "Turn" so to speak..... We're all in this to help one another, after all...

"How long is a piece of string?" snort! LOL

i'm just going to wait it out. I was just curious to know if other locations around the world got faster shipping from the subcontinent... it is a test of patience, though...

I've found that dealing with suppliers from India is a pretty good experience (When you've got a Lightning. Your choices for some parts are limited). I've found that a wait of 2 to 3 weeks is normal.

It may be American customs that cause a delay. I imported a classic car some years ago and it took them 8 weeks just to clear it for export during which time it was stored undercover in the docks at my expense!

Hi guys--------and hello PapaSmurf. Most of the guys I know in the Model Engineering world, (myself included)--- would do that little job for you as a "Freebie" providing you supply the metal.....plus we're on your doorstep unlike your "Mr. Wang" ! so you could have them made and fitted within a day or two..Simples really....Anyway, that's enough from me on this subject as we appear to be going Off Thread...

Over the last year or so I bought a kickstart lever and a few other RE parts from India. It generally took about ten days for delivery to UK.

I have saved lots of money by buying direct from overseas suppliers. I needed an oil pump for an obsolescent Suzuki Swift car engine for my trials car. Main dealer in UK? They wanted me to buy it at my own risk, they couldn't guarantee if it would fit my engine and it was on a "no return" basis. They seemed to think they were doing me a favour at £316 - Er no thanks, I bought the entire engine and all its ancillaries for £185!

I found one in California on an online catalogue. It cost the equivalent of £26 plus about the same again for delivery, customs duty pre-paid. I knew it would fit because I saw a picture of it before purchase.

The Postal Fairy was kind today... had one of the three orders arrive today. Logged into Ebay and found that the website lists a range of delivery dates. The mobile app only listed the last possibly day reported. I’ve the lock set and the new switch for the headlight. Now i need the oil filter cap and the clutch/brake lever set. Lastly will be selecting a color to better match the newly painted parts so they better match the rest of the bike.

And the waiting continues...
