To all the Brits (and anyone outside the US)...

How long does it take to receive parts from India? I just made a few ebay purchases and i’m getting alerts that the estimated delivery date is November 27th!!! I expect that it’ll be shorter and that the reported date is the worst case estimate for boat/customs/truck/final delivery. It’s a pain in the backside as the bike is sidelined until the parts arrive...

Thanks!

How long is a piece of string?

Seriously, it can vary from around a week to a couple of months if the order gets screwed up. Worst case scenario, claim your money back off ebay.

I have noticed there are some ebay traders who appear to be from India who have set up ebay shops selling Bullet stuff in the UK, I don't know if they'd have any of the parts you want, assuming out hosts don't have them, but post from the UK to the USA might be quicker.

I have had parts delivered from India in three days, but this is air freight at an extra cost, Parts bought on E BAY with free delivery can take up to four to five weeks, It all about how much you pay for delivery.

Slightly off topic but I have long despaired of having to buy from abroad because what I wanted was not obtainable in the UK.
(I have also had deivery times from three days to two months. But they are usually postage free.)
The latest example being two 25mm long stainless steel nuts with a 10mm fine thread, I had to get them from Mr Wangs shed workshop somewhere in China. Long delivery time because I suspect it took the villages donkey with panniers delivery services a long time to get to the nearest road.

Hi guys------------Papasmurf, just a thought but regarding those "special" 25mm long S/S nuts, with 10mm fine thread......Why not ask at your local Model Engineering Society where there are lots of "Mature" chaps with lathes etc. who regularly dabble in the world of exotic engineering items ?? I'm sure someone would make them for you.............plus you might get the chance of driving a scale model of Flying Scotsman as well !! ( alas, not for the likes of me as I'm GWR orientated !! )....The Southern Federation Of Model Engineering Societies should be able to locate one for you}--- https://www.sfmes.co.uk/public/..................OR}---- Someone in the Vintage Motorcycle Club as they regularly do restorations as do guys in The Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club or any of the Classic and Vintage Car Clubs .........................Bearing in mind this thread's title the real question at the moment seems to be}---- "How long will it take a Royal Enfield 650 twin to arrive from India" ???..They might do better if they sold them via the E-Bay "Classified Ads" system ??
