Decided not to fit heated grips on my C5 for this winter, so I thought about Muffs but having never used them I've no idea about fit/quality/rainproof and so on, I see H sells them but there's not much detail. If anyone has used them on a C5 what type/make did you use? and were they any good?

Hello i Commute on my iron Head 350s and tried Muffs (cos all old,now very old, guys recommended them) my conclusion over a few winters was..with thin gloves on COLD..with Cheap Woolly Gloves on HOT. I finally gave up as i could not get my hands out quick enough to scratch nose/arse wipe visor/nose etc...all so you have to re,ember where all your hidden switches are? sounds easy till....... Con conclusion to trying the muffs & heated bars over the years "Good Gloves" are better....but i am glad i tried them..Ho they where water proof

The bar muffs will come out as soon as the clocks go back. Have had too many flat battery moments to trust heated grips and the memory hasn't improved with age. Mine are Givi and wind pressure would press them against the levers at any decent speed so I bodged some frames out of bent coatghanger to stiffen them. Also had to put eyelets in to accommodate the bar end mirrors on the Bullet, which now do for the bar weights on the Himalayan. Not totally waterproof, but not enough gets through to wet gloves. They make riding down to fr3zing temperatures perfectly feasible. I've never had a problem with not being able to see the switches, it's not the most complicated set up is it, and you shouldn't need to look anyway.

A company called tucano urbano make neoprene bar muffs with a "boxing glove" kind of design (they have in integrated "thumb" for operating the switchgear). These will NOT pull your levers on, they are pretty ridgid with an internal framework to keep them off the levers and easily good for 100mph. They make two types, one for bikes with bar weights and one for bikes without. It is worth considering fitting end weights so you can use that "easy on" type because they are then very quick to take on and off.

Mine have delivered 4 dragon rallys on a 350 bullet with warm, dry hands so far.
