I shall be glueing some tank pads onto my 500 twin's tank soon. Can anybody recommend the best glue to use or any other tips?

Thanks.

I used the Evostick in a tube that Hitchcocks supply and approx eight years later all good, that includes having petrol spilt over them, hot sunny weather etc.

Evostik is our host's recommendation - they list it on the same page as the knee pads in their catalogue.

Thanks for the advice that has saved me making a mess with the wrong stuff. I can now make one with the correct glue - only joking :-)

Do you stick directly onto the (cleaned) paint as is or must you roughen the paint or even strip it? I also have pads to fit.

The Evostick is very good for this application. After having an original Crusader tank re-chromed to a lovely finish, I found it required etching into the surface for any sort of adhesive to be able to stick the tank pads to the chrome, as it was just too smooth! Attempts of sticking the pads on to the perfect finish of the chrome were unsuccessful, and resulted in the pads peeling off in no time at all. I would of thought a painted finish would be a better surface to apply to, but if you do have issues, its worth considering roughing the surface where the pad will be applied.
