Hi, a question I've always wondered about: Is it possible to add an extra friction plate to a clutch which was originally equipped with 3 friction plates? Or even convert a clutch to a 5 plate setup using parts from our hosts? Thinner plates? Has anybody ever tried this? FWIW I really want to know if the clutch on my 1960 Constellation (scissor clutch) can be upgraded as apart from the clutch operating assy it is more or less (i.e 3 friction plates) the same setup on my model G de luxe.... Any pointers/advice from fellow owners greatly appreciated, thanks, Marko

Quick answer, yes. Go into the Accessory Catalogue, find the Bullet 5 plate clutch conversion kit, it fits straight in. I just looked, it's called 'Clutch service kit, improved'. I put one of these kits into my own scissors clutch Connie (now sold,) and it worked a traet. It's worth perusing the Accessory Catalogue because although it's intended for Bullet owners many parts are applicable to the other models in the Redditch range, particularly Twins.

Thank you Mark :) I knew I did a good thing when I ditched made in Meriden in favour of Redditch :)
