Martyn, it was somewhere on the Brightspark Magneto site, I'll e-mail you a copy. B.W.'s comment "the points need to be opening when the magnetic flux is at its peak" sounds like the timing procedure with a low-tension magneto on an old Fairbank-Morse Z type stationary engine, except that the points on one of those are inside the combustion chamber! I get the idea, probably time to go and have a play.
