I have a later metalastic bush type swinging arm in a very early Crusader frame. I replaced the old metalastic bushes with Indian Bullet bushes as they are the same dimension and it fitted without issue using the appropriate inserts/spacers in the pivot. The inner sleeve of the bush is designed to clamp between the frame and the swinging arm's movement relies on flex in the rubber part of the bush.

The older swinging arms and the later type are interchangeable as long as you use the corresponding inserts/spacers in the pivot.
