Hi Guys--------7 weeks ago I bought a car and as per the regulations the vendor sent the old V5c to DVLA, Swansea for change of ownership, whilst I kept the tear-off strip V5Ca which acts as the Log Book until you receive the new one made out in your name..........

Well, it arrived to-day and upon checking the details I had a bit of a surprise !!..............Apparently my name has now been changed from}---- ALAN REDGRAVE ---------- to}--- ALAH REDGRAVE !!! ................I don't know if you can see it in the attached photo. ??..............Does this now mean that my Bullet 65 will never break down being a Chariot of the Gods ??????

I'd send it back with a letter of complaint. That one small typo could cost you dearly if you get caught up in some bureaucratic nonsense. Red tape is unfathomable...

I think you have more problems to look forward to than a name change. You’ve displayed sufficient details in your post for anyone to SORN your vehicle which I’ve kindly just done for you to save you the trouble of doing it yourself ;)

Thanks guys-------following a bit of "Horse Trading" I've decided to sell the car, so the V5 has been returned to Swansea for due processing along with a separate letter pointing out the spelling mistake.....Thanks for the input...

I had my little CB125S Honda many years ago.

When I bought it, the bike had not been used for many years and the reg was no longer valid. A guy came to see the bike from the local office (when we had them) at Maidstone just to make sure it did exist.

The V5 duly came back with a new age related reg, and a vehicle description of 'Scooter Combination' Not bad for a solo 125cc! I never did think to change it.
