That's jolly interesting! What's that tube? What does it do? Why don't I have one?

I would say it’s some form of recirculation system, perhaps a charcoal canister. It looks to me that it is recycling oil vapour or some such into the inlet tract. Nothing to do with a tapping noise but interesting anyway. Note that the bike has a carb; a possible clue as to why we don’t have one. If the rubber is as crap as mine is on the tank drain it’s just as well...

Funnily enough, that video made me look under the tank to find that the rubber pipe on the tank drain/vapour vent had split over large parts of its length...
