I took off the clutch plates on my b350 2003 to check for a drag problem and I am counting the extra number of plates the bullet 500 has.Is this possible on a 350 bike? Currently checking the engine serial stamp online to find engine type with no joy.

What's more confusing for me is the hosts online parts catalogue shows the b350 has the same clutch parts as the b500.My service manual and Mr Snidals show less clutch plates for the 350.

Are you trying to suggest that our host's online parts list is wrong ?
The Snidal manual obviously doesn't take account of the fact that 350 and 500 versions used the same number of plates
after 9/98.......

Could I also add that if you have a drag problem, it's unlikely to be an outcome of the number of plates - you need to look
elsewhere (adjustment/lost motion/wear or warpage in the plates, etc.)

Thanks for that info JohnL certainly cleared up my confusion.Thats why I dismantled the clutch looking for warpage/damage.

hello.
I would think that the most likely causes of clutch drag are: poor adjustment at the pushrod end adjuster rhs under disc panel. or loss of ball bearing in pushrod assy. hope this helps. regards steve

Ive replaced 2 of the rhs adjuster screws ball appears to indent back inti body of screw, dont know if there is a spring behind ball or just crap metal makes a big diff to adjustment.
